There’s a new controversy in D.C.: RGIII posted his wedding gift registry online and received everything he asked for…from his fans. Now some people are in uproar because he accepted these gifts from strangers and because he is rich he shouldn’t accept them. (Read the rest of the article and watch the video here)
Seriously? We finally have a leader in D.C. that EVERYONE likes. When the heck was the last time that happened?
I don’t understand why people are upset. If people want to give him gifts, let them. They can choose to do what they want with their own money. He shouldn’t be punished for accepting gifts that people choose to give him. Is anyone else who posts a wedding gift registry expected to give back any gifts? I sure wouldn’t. And anyway, it’s rude to give gifts back.
People who have met him have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. Recently, some family friends saw him at the airport. Here are some pictures they took:
Smiling. Signing autographs. Talking to all the fans.
He wasn’t rude. He didn’t ignore people. He didn’t act like he was too good for them. The guy LOVES his fans and truly appreciates them. Why aren’t we allowed to give something back to him? And they’re wedding gifts! Let the kid enjoy and celebrate this awesome time of his life. You know he’ll repay D.C. with a Lombardi soon enough!
What do y’all think? Agree with me? Disagree? I wanna know your thoughts!
